1. Drill bits are generally divided into high-speed steel (HSS) and hard alloy (CARBIDE) according to the materials we commonly use. If the spindle accuracy of the machine tool is good and the power is high, alloy drills can be used to improve processing efficiency. If cost is considered, high-speed steel is more cost-effective, but the efficiency is relatively low. Compared to high-speed steel drills, alloy drills have a 1.5-3 times higher efficiency. The advantages of alloy drills include high hardness, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance. Disadvantages: Hard and brittle, prone to breakage if not used properly. 2. According to usage, drill bits are generally divided into ordinary drills, shallow hole drills, deep hole drills, centering drills, etc. Ordinary drills are used to process ordinary holes. Generally speaking, using high-speed steel drills to process 12 holes may result in a hole size of about 10-20 threads, while using alloy drills may also be slightly larger, but generally very small. Of course, if the spindle accuracy of the machine tool is good, if the longitudinal runout of the machine tool is not good, any drill bit will have a hole size phenomenon. Shallow hole drill: When used on machining centers, it is generally used to use an indexable shallow hole drill, which is a drill bit with alloy blades. The use of this drill bit generally requires the machine spindle to have an internal cooling device, otherwise it will reduce machining efficiency. Deep hole drill: As the name suggests, it is a drill bit used to process deep holes, with a relatively large diameter and length. Generally, it has two guide edges on the side edge.
