The Universal Chuck doesn’t use collets and closes small enough to hold a #80 drill bit while opening enough to fit standard-size dental burrs. The button on the top of the handle locks the chuck in place permitting easy tightening and loosening. An on/off-variable speed dial on the rear of the body allows the required speed to be easily set.

The mandrels have a machined slot through the middle of the shaft permitting a strip of sandpaper to be inserted. Once wound around the mandrel the sandpaper assumes the shape of a barrel making a handy abrasive tool for finishing surfaces or the interiors of tubular-shaped parts.

In addition to the DU300 the kit includes a nice assortment of handy-sized bits, burrs, mandrels, and other accessories that are the perfect size for scale modeling.

The small, pencil-like design of the DU300  incorporates a high quality motor and main bearing that permits this Mini-Drill to run vibration-free even at it’s max setting of 25,000 rpm. The small size of both the Universal Chuck and the DU300 allows the drill to be easily maneuvered for getting into tight spaces. The thin power cord plugs into the back of the handle.
