A general-purpose steel alloy highly resistant to heat and corrosion that responds well to hardening by cold working, this 304 stainless steel is easy to weld or form. When exposed to temperatures up to 1,600°F it maintains a good oxidation resistance thanks to having a composition of 8 percent nickel and 18 percent chromium. This 304 stainless steel is also compliant with ASTM A276 specifications.
