you can do a higby notch with a standard thread cycle. use an id groove tool that will fit copy your thread cycle from threader, change your z depth to 1 pitch slow the rpm and it works great!
FINALLY! someone else that knows what a "higby" is! not "clipping the lead" or "remove imperfect thread" but an honest to goodness HIGBY!
Hymen, can you post / e-mail a copy of the higby thread. I've been trying to blunt start acme threads, on our Okumas (osp700 & u100), with no luck. I know it can be done on the 700, I've done it before but now I cant find my notes.

Is that a double lead higby? I've programmed them with Shartcam a few years ago but not MC yet. I'm sure you can if Shartcam could do it.
I wouldn't know how to make MCX output something like this. So far I've created the helix of the pitch and am trying a 3d contour without G112, and it seems to work OK but am a little concerned how the finish will look as is posts small increments of C and Z. Although when holding the chuck and running through the code it seems like it might just work!!
