I've long wanted to be able to customize gridfinity and wasn't up to doing it in OpenSCAD. This Fusion 360 app makes doing so incredibly easy. Thank you so much for creating and sharing it.

Hi, currently it is possible with custom compartmets grid feature. You can select a hollow bin, set compartments grid size 1x1 and switch grid type to "custom grid". Then using button "reset to uniform" to auto populate the table you will get a depth input in it. I know it's not as straightforward as you might want, however, the way "solid" bin branch is currently working it is bypassing any compartment creation inside, so those settings aren't available in it right now.

If you plan on storing your stuff in A 42x42 grid, then you must have this GridfinityGenerator.  The added option for padding on the sides of baseplates in the newest version is an awesome timesaver for creating your customized grids for drawers (tool and kitchen).  No easier way to create a custom holder no matter what size.  Makes quick work of it.  Thank you!

Option for symmetrical padding. Just a checkbox to switch between symmetrical and asymmetrical. symmetrical option could just split available padding based on input x and y dimensions from first suggestion and potentially add partial units based on second suggestion.

So I thought, I'll print a couple of bins to just bung bits in to halp tidy my drawers a bit...The gridfinity rabbit hole has been entered. My drawers are conveniently 10x10 grids plus about 2mm, and I can't just have one of them organised, I have even made one with custom inserts for a bunch of MDF foam cutting jigs I have for model making. Does it take up more space that just throwing them in a simple box, yes, but it looks so cool!

This tool is amazing - I was able to quickly create many different forms of gridfinity bins that fit into the baseplate perfectly - there are many options to choose from including magnetic base, automatically placing extrusions for engravings or tags to indicate certain things, solid, hollow or shelled bodies - has been extremely useful so far. Thanks so much for making this great tool!

Never had this problem until now, but a solid bin with lip for stackability, half of the lip isn't generated for some reason. Let me know if there's somewhere to report this bug properly. Thanks

Love it! So easy to crete them! Only thing i miss is on the baseplate to be able to make it wider without longer or even better, half size! Like you can on a bin, there you can make a half size at the bottom but not on the grid to make it snap nice in a drawer if its like 1,8 or 1,5 units in width! Changing the widht also changes the lenght unfortionatley...But great tool!

This plugin is Realy Awesome. I love it. But i'm missing one feature/option (if its possible):When selecting solid Bin type, i'd like to have it solid only up to half to be able to cut my item out and still had option to stack another unit on top without wasting filament when "full block" isn't needed.Right now i can only make two same sized boxes, one standart "hollow Bin" and one "half height Filled Bin without stack lips" and then Merge them together.

So useful! Wish I had discovered this earlier, my struggle to find the right bin had been so much easier and shorter. :) Also glad to be able to remove holes for magnets (which I don't use), to simplify print and save some space.

Amazing. I wanted to customize the size of the grid to 30mm. I tried using all the other templates I could find but none of them worked, they all blew up when I changed the grid size. I was about to make my own when I found this. Does more than I could have imagined. Thank you so much, this is so good!

I've just got into this Gridfinity stuff and was struggling to find the specific boxes I needed. This generator has solved all my issues and more. It's so good! Thanks so much.

Absolutely fantastic!  Thank you for making this add-in.  It is so easy to make custom bases and boxes.  I will mention this and show this in an upcoming video.

Despite the plethora of preexisting bins, there is always that thing you can't find making this the best free plug-in for Fusion 360.

As a 3D printer noob, this add in has saved me so much time making custom sized gridfinity bins/bases. Super simple to use as someone that is not familiar with CAD software yet. Thank you so much.

I'm really happy that I found this tool. I have so many projects at the moment where I need to do more sorting. This unified platform is really brilliant. And it works really well in Fusion 360

This is an extremely useful add-in! It honestly makes it a joy to create new gridfinity components. Your work is greatly appreciated.

Great tool and works great.Except for a few places where i need to screw down the gridfinity bases on a board.- The Screw Head Cutout is on the bottom of the base (so you screw up, into the bin?), I need them on the top of the base, to screw the baseplate down on the board.- Only the Skeleton and full version have screw holes as an option; it would be great if the 'light' version would have screw holes as well, for example in the crossings. With the default size of 3.2mm and 6mm screw clearance, if you go down 2mm from the top and then flange, the screw shouldnt interfere with the bins.

(google translation) Hello and thank you. I love this app. the creation is very simple even if it took me a while to understand given my level of English but we're getting there. a function could be useful, having a window function to stick a small transparent plate on the front face. But thank you for the excellent work. 5 stars

Another (in my eyes, easier) route that i use is make a solid bin with stack lips and then after creation select the top of the 'solid' and extrude that down to the height you need. It still is a workaround, but it saves you the hassle of making two boxes and combining them.

Took me a minute to get it installed, but works great.  Allowed me to customize it and add a text label in fusion on the support.

This is Great help, I'm curently trying to organise my tool in my garage and found out about Zack's gridfinity (thanks to him to).

Great plugin! Been using it a lot recently! If there is one thing I wish it could have is under the Main dimensions where the total dimensions are, if you can add a option for imperial as well as metric.

Thank you for this wonderfull plugin! Its absolutely wonderfull!I managed to make a half grid on one side so i can fill up my drawers better, still keeping the 42x42 grid but on one side there is an added 21x42Then i designed all the boxes with a 21x21 and grid and i can place them anywhere now...

I started down the path of creating a parametric bin body template and stumbled across this plug-in. It saved me a ton of time, is easy to use, and produces exactly what I expected.

When I install this addin, it install it just for the local user, not for the rest of the users on the computer. As there is just one local administrator on the computer that is allowed to install programs and the rest of the users has limited rights, they will not have acces to the GridfinityGenerator. Something to fix in the future ?

Any size, any customization you could ever need. I love that you can fill it in solid, and then cut any custom shape you need into the container. Great work Lev, and thank you so much for creating such a useful generator!

Hi, I am sorry to hear you have some issues with the addin. If you can please submit an issue here https://github.com/Le0Michine/FusionGridfinityGenerator/issues, I would really appreciate it if you could provide some details along with it as well. Such as: - addin version (please ensure you are using the most recent version as there were several bugs resolved recently related to fusion update) - fusion 360 version and OS you are using - a screenshot of the issue - what inputs were used when the issue occurred

GridfinityGenerator simplifies the bin creation process by offering a comprehensive set of features that streamline your workflow. Whether you need standard bins or specialized tool bins, GridfinityGenerator has got you covered. The app provides an option to generate solid bins, serving as a perfect starting point for creating highly customized tool bins tailored to your unique needs.

An Option to just input the x and y dimensions of available space and the amount of units in x and y get calculated for you instead of inputting the x and y units yourself. This could also automatically input padding.

Couldn't find a Samsung T7 holder in the style that I wanted. Heard about this before and decided to use it for myself. Really simple to use after I figured out that dimensions and the u are different. I thought changing the dimensions would change the amount of grids it takes up.

I'm new to Fusion (coming from Tinkercad), and I was looking for some Gridfinity boxes to print but couldn't find the size I was looking for. Then, out of the blue and with pure luck, I stumbled upon this awesome plugin!!! AMAZING!!!! Now I can literally make any size I want with or without holes, magnet holders, etc.

First impressions are that I am very impressed and that this will be very useful for me.   I had a hiccup when first using in that the plug in did not appear in the design > solid > create menu.  I install another random plugin and then it appeared.  Hope this helps others.

Zack Freedman (AKA voidstar) revolutionized small parts and tools storage with this standard; now thousands of gridfinity items are posted to various sites.  Despite the plethora of preexisting bins, there is always that thing you can't find making this the best free plug-in for Fusion 360.  It looks to be very well written as I have not been able to crash it yet and I'm pretty notorious for crashing plug-ins.

This is awesome, thx! I saw that there is an advancement called Clickfinity: https://www.printables.com/de/model/452675-gridfinity-clickfinity-baseplate-no-magnets-univer Looks great. So if you need another project... feel free to make a ClickfinityGenerator :DBut I think this would be way harder to parametrize. Btw: Is there a way one can tip you? I think this deserves a tip!

Very good and easy to use Plugin, thank you for that. Here's the but, some suggestions: An Option to just input the x and y dimensions of available space and the amount of units in x and y get calculated for you instead of inputting the x and y units yourself. This could also automatically input padding. Based on the first suggestion: Option to use the padding for partial boxes. Maybe an additional input such as "Minimum padding width to use partial unit instead". that would be very neat to automatically use more of the available space instead of unusable padding. Option for symmetrical padding. Just a checkbox to switch between symmetrical and asymmetrical. symmetrical option could just split available padding based on input x and y dimensions from first suggestion and potentially add partial units based on second suggestion.

Most of my standard bin needs are covered directly from the customization menu, so very happy. Also easier to pick a starting point for modding them further, to minimize work.

Hi, the best place to file a bug would be the project's github, however from the description it sounds very similar to the one below https://github.com/Le0Michine/FusionGridfinityGenerator/issues/56 It was addressed in version 1.2.7.0. If you still experience the issue feel free to create a new issue there
