Reaming: Reaming is a sizing operation that removes a small amount of metal from a hole already drilled. It is done for two purposes: to bring holes to a more exact size and to improve the finish of an existing hole.

Boring: Boring is an operation to enlarging of an existing hole, which may have been made by a drill or maybe the result of a core in a casting.

GATE PI 2024 Notification & Information Brochure Out. The exam i scheuled to be conducted on 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th February 2024 in the Morning and Afternoon Shifts. Along with the official notification, the application process for GATE 2024 has also begun. The exam is going to be conducted by IISc Bangalore in different GATE exam centers across the country. Candidates must carry the GATE PI Admit Card to the exam center. The GATE exam is conducted every year for admissions in ME/MTech/Ph.D. in prestigious institutes of India like the IITs/MITs/IIITs.

Drilling is used to cut or enlarge the diameter. Reaming operation is meant to slightly increase the size and to provide a better tolerance and surface finish of an initially drilled hole.
