I snapped off a drill bit (1/8”) while trying to drill out a bolt with its head snapped off (M7). I’m already trying a carbide bit, however I’m making like zero progression and they’re dulling out quick. I’ll probably go through ten before I’m a quarter inch deep. Also open to extractor suggestions. I can’t seem to get much bite. The bolt itself is a hardened steel it seems, it’s holding down a spring loaded injector bracket into an aluminum BMW block.

It looked like I was doing ok working up in bit sizes. It’s a miserable spot in the engine valley so I have to use a drill bit extender to reach it lol
