This 5-piece straight cut router bit set is a great choice for all kinds of dado and straight cut routing. The set includes 5 very useful cutting diameters to cut that perfect dado. This 1/2" shank router cutting bit set also comes in a beautiful solid wood router bit storage case. The cutting diameters are: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4". The 1/4" bit has a solid carbide insert blade which enhances the strength of small diameter bits. The shank diameters are 1/2".

Straight cutting router bits are the most widely used and versatile bits in woodworking. They are ideal for joinery such as box joints, lap joints, dados, rabbets, mortises and tenons. You can also use straight bits for trimming operations and CNC work.

Instructions: Slowly dial up the RPMs on your router to the recommended maximum. Then, dial back if needed to find the “sweet spot”. The sweet spot is the speed at which the least resonant vibration is present. If the sweet spot cannot be achieved within 5,000 RPMs of the max, check the collet for residue or other debris and start over.

Warning: Make sure the router bit is properly fastened and tightened in the router’s collet and the bit can rotate freely without any obstructions.
