Metricthread angle

Pg thread usage is trying to be phased out in continental Europe. A new metric thread standard (EN 50262) will be phased in as mandatory beginning on March 1, 2001 replacing the Pg thread. There was a different standard for electrical conduit threads based on the 55° Whitworth thread form. That standard has been made obsolete. An unofficial survey of UK gage makers done May 2010 found that most did not know EN 50262 existed as a standard. One gage maker did know about the standard, but had made no gages to that standard.

The spray form process imparts a more homogeneous structure with improved carbide distribution and a preferred spherical carbide shape.
