FREUD 3/8" RADIUS ROUNDING-OVER ROUTER BIT - radius router bit
CAMÂ Assist has a deep understanding of the rules and physics of machining, paired with the ability to generate trillions of possible ways to manufacture a component. It does this bearing in mind your unique combination of part + fixture + tooling + machine. It rapidly simulates these possibilities, narrowing down the options to a sensible set of operations that will successfully produce the part to tolerance, which it then inputs this directly into to your CAMÂ package, much in the same way you would. This leaves you with a CAMÂ program that is ready to simulate and edit. CAMÂ Assist will rarely provide a perfect strategy first time, but it will usually get you 80%Â of the way there - it is up to you to decide how to use that time.
In the video below, there is an expanded explanation about all the different bits that you can get from Dremel and what they are used for:
There also should be tiny felt bulbs that you can use to polish up your artwork or jewelry or of course, your miniatures if needed.
Well, it is no secret that I prefer decent quality for my tools and ‘Dremel’ is just one of the best small electric drills for crafts that I have been using since the beginning to craft my dollhouses and miniatures.
Whereas feature-based machining can identify a certain feature on a part and enable you to make a macro for that feature, CAM Assist is an AI thatâs been programmed to know how to make the whole component. That means instead of recognising features and drawing from a template library you have built, CAM Assist works out the best toolpaths and strategies based on all the elements that a component consists of, because CAM Assist understands the part holistically, as a whole. CAM Assist is an AI that understands the physics and rules of CNC machining, works at full effectiveness out of the box, and receives new capabilities added monthly enabling it to program more components with faster cycle times and better process robustness. By contrast Feature Based Machining is not AI and does not understand CNC machining. It can take upwards of a year to build an effective macro database, and most factories employing Feature Based Machining also employ full-time technicians to continually expand this database. Feature Based Machining is known for being inflexible and difficult to set up. It tends to be most popular in major manufacturing operations producing large families of similar components - a use case in which it excels. It is rarely found in the subcontract machining arena. âCAM Assist requires no setup and little training, integrating directly into your existing CAM package. It also contains powerful additional capabilities including instant cycle time estimation, instant fixture generation and instant feed and speed optimisation.
So basically you can drill, you can cut, you can sand, you can polish and you can cut through any kind of materials, except stone I think that’s not possible. The limits are endless on what you can do with the mini drill and accessories.
I also created a fairy garden, and lots of small and simple miniature projects on my YouTube channel. (mostly made from trash or everyday items).
Head over to our Youtube channel here. We have an ever evolving library of video tutorials to assist you with anything from 3+2 axis maching to setting up and configuring your tool library.Â
You can't build AI for machining without knowing how to make parts. CAMÂ Assist is in use every day manufacturing parts for Aerospace, Oil &Â Gas, Nuclear, Auto, Defence and much more in our 22 machine factory.
Crafting on materials like plastic, wood, and metal becomes a seamless experience with this comprehensive kit, which they are always expanding, by the way.
Personally, I have used this drill for so many things, like all of my fairy houses, my treehouse, dollhouse twigs furniture, polishing things, drilling holes, and so much more!
My name is Lizzy, and I am an amateur miniaturist obsessed with everything in the dollhouse and miniature world, ever since I was a teenager.
So, investing in a Dremel Mini Electric Drill is not just about the drill itself; it’s about unlocking a kit of possibilities. The accompanying accessories, from various drill bit sizes to brash brushes and cutting wheels, enhance the tool’s functionality.
Other handy accessories that come with the kit for crafting miniatures are the brash brush, stainless steel wire brush, and a nylon wire brush, which are used to clean up your crafted pieces of jewelry for example.
So far, I have created 2 dollhouse projects, a backyard shed and a miniature treehouse, tons of DIY dollhouse kits, and “hacked” some.

Also in the basic accessories, there should be sanding drums that go onto little rubber pieces. You can use those also for sanding and cleaning up metal and wood pieces.
This has given me a great idea for Christmas presents for family and friends. I am an engineer, so is my brother and my nephew has just started an engineering apprenticeship.
Hi there! While the standard for pet groomers was the stylus tool made by well known rotary tool maker, this tool is equal to the task of grinding pet nails. In fact, the LED light is an improvement over the others tools enabling visibility, while the 8V battery supplies more than enough power to trim nails and the quiet motor doesn’t frighten the pet.
Hey Rosemary! I wish you lots of fun with the Dremel 4300 and you will see that you will use this device a lot! I am using it at the moment again for my fourth fairy house ? Kind regards, Lizzy
CAM Assist is purchased on a per seat basis and attaches to your CAMÂ seat license. Our fair usage policy requires that you purchase a seat for every active user.

CAM Assist Cutting Parameters AI is the engine powering the feeds and speeds underlying the automatic machining strategy generation in CAM Assist. This dynamic physics model computes feeds and speeds based on the characteristics of the chosen machine, tooling, materials and numerous other parameters. With the Cutting Parameters Explorer tool, users can also modify these parameters dynamically for each toolpath operation to account for the specific factors of the job at hand.
well Lizzy you helped me make my purchase of the Dremel 4300 and also got the flex shaft I hear it is pretty awesome I look forward to using it in miniature making thank you for all the comparisons
I have a Dremel with a cord. It is pricey, admitted, but for me it is, I repeat myself I know, the best one on the market. Thé best quality and thé best power.
Just know this: sooner or later if you want to craft miniatures yourself (and I don’t mean the kits, etc), you will definitely use a small rotary tool!
The end of the mini drill has a little collet where you can attach the drills in all sizes. (my Dremel has 6 different sizes of drills, up from 1,2 mm to over 2 mm).
When I haven't used the mini drill for a while and need to change a drill bit, I tend to always get confused again haha!
Euhm, sorry, I made it pretty clear which one is the best mini-electric drill, in my opinion, but don’t let that influence your decision ?
Today, I will take you on a journey of why I use this best small electric drill for crafts, and most of all miniatures, of course.
One aspect that sets Dremel apart is its commitment to quality craftsmanship. The mini drill’s build is not just robust but also ergonomic, ensuring a comfortable grip during extended crafting sessions.
Buying a cordless mini drill or one that you just need to plugin into the electricity depends on your personal taste. Myself, I don’t mind the cord at all, because I just plug it into a power strip, and thus reaching my miniatures with the drill isn’t a problem at all.
So far, I have created 2 dollhouse projects, a backyard shed and a miniature treehouse, tons of DIY dollhouse kits, and “hacked” some.
On the other hand, the cordless variant provides the freedom to craft anywhere without being tethered to an outlet. However, it’s crucial to consider potential limitations in battery life for the cordless model.
CAM Assist integrates seamlessly with Mastercam to generate machining strategies, increasing your shop's output from day one.
Generate custom soft jaw designs in seconds, cutting 40 minutes from CADÂ to first cut on average and freeing up your programmers to make more parts
CAMÂ Assist works with almost every CNCÂ milling machine. It will pull your machine parameters directly from your CAMÂ package, and if you do not have machines already defined you will need to provide for each machine the minimum and maximum spindle speed (RPM), maximum spindle torque (Nm), maximum spindle power (kW) and maximum table feed (mm/min).CAMÂ Assist does not currently support other types of CNCÂ machine such as lathes and mill-turns, though this is in development. Â
I was going to say: German ‘gründlichkeit’ – quality, but it turns out it has Austrian origin after I Googled it ? Dremel Company. (tunnel vision haha)
