How to Sharpen a Circular Saw - how to sharpen skill saw blade
Reamers are wood and metalworking tools that come in a large variety of sizes, types, and metals. In general, reamers are meant to refine holes that have been drilled in the material of choice. Reamers will smooth a hole's interior sides, straighten a bored hole, size a hole to very fine tolerances, and shape conical holes. Powered lathes and table drill press setups make larger tasks easier, but you can also ream smaller holes by hand. Woodworkers and metalworkers, hobbyists, and artisans can learn how to ream a hole accurately and simply.

To ream a hole by hand, choose a hand reamer in the same size as the hole you need. Fit the shank of the reamer into a tap wrench or a crescent wrench, and use a vise or clamps to secure the material you need to bore. Drill out the hole with a standard drill bit that’s about 0.016 smaller than your reamer, then place the reamer into the hole. Turn the wrench counter-clockwise to bore the hole until it’s the same size as the reamer. Keep reading to learn tips from our contracting reviewer on how to ream a hole with a drill press! After this, it’s critical to trim away any unwanted lines so you’re left with a clean contour path. This includes the original geometry that makes up the A shape.
Both options will remove the projection link turning the geometry into standard sketch geometry. This changes the line color from purple to black.

In our example, the geometry was original projected so we’ll need to break the projection link. Working with text is one scenario where breaking the projection link is unavoidable.

Our letter “A” is now ready to be cut on a laser cutter. Be sure to double check that it’s a closed profile but selecting the inside contour.

To summarize, we bridged the negative spaces in our text to make sure they could be cut by the laser cutter without losing the inner islands of specific letters.
Use dimensions and constraints to place the line geometry as desired. Use the dimension command to set the width. In this example, we set the width to 0.10″. Keep in mind this thickness must be reasonable for your material of choice and your material thickness.
Depending on your constraints and dimensions applied, you may get some warning messages in the lower right corner. This is nothing to worry about but you should be cautious and keep an eye on what you’re removing.
The Trim Tool allows you to quickly select line segments to trim away to their nearest intersection. In the below example, we’ve selected the bottom and top.
Before uploading your design to our Instant Quote tool, make sure to double check any text. In the below example, the word “LASER” includes two “islands” or areas of negative space; one in the letter “A” and “R”. These areas will not remain in the final design unless we bridge or join them to the main contour. Fortunately, this is an easy process in Fusion 360.
