Many jobs were lost when the Ball Aluminum factory in Verona was destroyed after a fire burned much of the facility. However, the CAVA Foods facility will bring at least 50 jobs to the Valley with future growth in mind.

“There’s a great and really strong pool of talent down here in the Valley as well as great transportation efficiency from logistics and trucking routes,” Schulman said. “It really was a perfectly located spot for our growth growing forward as well as supporting our existing restaurant base.”

At the ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, Schulman applauded the Shenandoah Valley for its strategic location in the Mid-Atlantic region. He said it was one of the biggest selling points when choosing where to build the second facility.

“We’ve got room for expansion, so we can grow even beyond that,” Brent Schulman, co-founder and CEO of CAVA Foods, said. “What is unique for this facility and for us is that we are vertically integrated with our restaurants and our consumer-packaged goods, the CPG goods, and we are producing fresh product.”

VERONA, Va. (WHSV) - CAVA Foods owns and operates over 300 storefronts in the United States, along with packaged products that are sold at Whole Foods grocery stores as well. Previously, the company only had one manufacturing facility in Maryland, but the new expansion brings new opportunities to the Shenandoah Valley.

Currently the facility only operates one shift, but Schulman said a second shift could be in the near future which would offer more jobs to people in the Valley.
