If that is what you meant, I think it is not necessary that they have to mean something. These prefixes are setup when we create tables and that is where we set these prefixes to our ticket (record) numbers.
Sorry for the non-relevant information I previously shared. I wasn't sure what you were actually looking for. And I felt may be you were looking something on the process or knowledge perspective.
Thanks for the reply Gaurav - I am referencing the Issue records in ServiceNow, so not positive whether the above applies here. Their Number starts off with IPT.

They can even be changed as per your need, but be advised it may have some data inconsistencies. So make sure you check, before you do.
Actually, they should mean something. Having a prefix without meaning is meaningless - that's what TLA's are for. And in regards to Vishal's post, IPT comes straight outta the box, it's not something a purchasing organization makes up.For Jeff's look into the decoding of IPT, I would present Issues and Problem Tracking as a possiblity. You would think someone from SNOW would know this!

If you are not satisfied with my response, please elaborate your query to which context is IPT related in your scenario for me to assist you on this better.
According to the tool geometry and application settings, the Chip Thinning factors ensure that the actual Feed per Tooth [Fz] will retain the required Chip Load.
IPTs are used in complex development programs/projects for review and decision making. The emphasis of the IPT is on involvement of all stakeholders (users, customers, management, developers, contractors) in a collaborative forum.
An integrated product team (IPT) is a multidisciplinary group of people who are collectively responsible for delivering a defined product or process.
