We offer a comprehensive selection of more than 28,000 miniature and specialty cutting tools that are all fully stocked. The breadth and depth of our products help solve the industry’s toughest machining challenges.

Multi-axis machining represents a highly complex method where the cutting tool can move across multiple axes simultaneously, allowing for the production of intricate machine parts in a single setup. This technique enhances the efficiency of machining works and significantly increases the precision of machined parts. The types of multi-axis machining, such as 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis, refer to the number of directions in which the cutting tool can operate. By employing these advanced methods, Trace-A-Matic execute complicated designs that would be impossible with traditional machining practices, streamlining production processes and expanding the possibilities for innovation in manufacturing.

Great in Heavy Radial Efficiency Milling (HREM) applications of Titanium 6Al4V and other titanium alloys, these fully stocked, square profile Variable Helix End Mills decrease chatter and harmonics.

Trace-A-Matic conquers complex part manufacturing with state-of-the-art multi-axis CNC machining, backed by decades of experience and unmatched creativity. The multi-axis platform cuts part geometry and complex shapes unachievable by other machining methods, due to the exceptional mobility of workpiece to tool rotational axes. This enhanced 6-sided machining capability increases accuracy by combining several standalone operations, significantly reducing part handling and multiple clamping phases during the process. The spindle head operates in closer proximity to the workpiece, allowing shorter cutting tools with less vibration and deflection, higher cutting speeds, tighter tool moves, and improved surface finishing capability.

A multiaxis machining center has a variable speed tool spindle head with a multidirectional rotary axes orientation. Raw material clamps into an indexing chuck or to a table. The spindle head assembly moves along the travel columns in unison with the chuck or index table to precisely maneuver the workpiece and cutting tool to achieve the proper cutting path required for removing material. Multi-axis machines lend themselves to a single setup, infinite geometry cutting, excellent chip management, longer tool life, repeatable manufacturing, and the speed of simultaneous 5-axis high precision machining. Like a standard milling machine, this is a subtractive manufacturing process.

Harvey Tool's offering of fully stocked, solid carbide Boring Bars, all of which are CNC ground in the USA and ship same day, feature a helical back rake flute, designed to improve accuracy and enhance chip flow, as well as a square neck to improve rigidity.

Multi-Axis Processes: Boring, broaching, counterboring, countersinking, cutting, drilling, facing, gear hobbing, internal forming, knurling, axis milling, parting, pocketing, profiling, reaming, spline, tapping, threading (external, internal), turning (contour, form, taper, straight), and thread milling

Cost savings is another huge benefit of multi-axis technology. Consolidating 3-axis machining and other linear axes operations into a single set-up increases production throughput while reducing cycle time, costly work fixtures, and overall waste. It provides a more efficient and economical solution with faster lead time and production turnaround with outstanding quality.

Whether you seek cost reduction, complex parts machining, or both, Trace-A-Matic is your world-class precision multi-axis machine shop!
