Thank you for the reply. I was hoping to get clarification on this product compared to the Laguna Driftmaster that is no longer sold by Laguna. I sent a link previously. The Laguna Driftmaster is at times wanted by woodworkers seeking to add a fence or better fence to a vintage machine, and since it is no longer sold by Laguna, the way to get one is to post WTB on a forum. What is interesting is that your product is also called “Driftmaster”. That is a brand name rather than a generic name, and the use of the word “Driftmaster” indicates it is the same product. However, it looks different on the picture. Can you please provide a comparison? If this is similar, then I could rather buy new than seek used.Their response was:
I didn't look up any links or relevant manufacturer information for the other one. If it's Laguna you need, we can provide it. Or you can let me know if you have any other ideas or questions._________________________________Interesting as it seems they are suggesting you can get from them the Laguna style or a different style, both called "Driftmaster"

If I could pick an ideal aftermarket fence for a larger bandsaw, it would have a fence extrusion like the Laguna Driftmaster and have drift adjustment, be rigid and heavy duty, and be clip on/off on a guide rail, and preferably available as a current product. I was seeing some members post about wanting and finding a used Driftmaster. I found that when I looked up Driftmaster, Harvey came up, sold in Australia. https://gregmach.com/product/drift-master-fence-system/ It looked different than the discontinued Laguna branded product, but the word "Driftmaster" was used which implies a specific product. I wrote to Harvey and included a link to where a picture of the Laguna Driftmaster could be seen. I asked about this. The reply was:
I do not know the owners well but have had some contact. They are very entrepreneurial and last time I spoke to them (several years ago) they were extolling their contacts in China, and how they are having their designs made there. I want to be clear that I am not endorsing Gregory Machinery, nor disendorsing them.

I find the second response strange (that you reproduced below). Gregory Machinery did not produce any Laguna products as far as I know; they were simply distributors. Maybe they actually still have some Laguna parts? I don’t know.

Unfortunately, though, if you need the entire rail assembly, the shipping costs can be higher than the value of the product itself. Or it could be the case that you identify the product you need and pay us in advance for the goods. We will add the product to the container going to California in October and expect it to take 35 days to arrive in California and ship to you. Doing it this way, all you have to pay for shipping is to ship it from our California warehouse to your address, which is much cheaper

Harvey Wealth Management maintains a network of local CPA’s, attorneys and insurance agents that we’d be happy to introduce you to in order to complement our services or if your needs fall outside of our scope.
When I’m on the website here in Australia, searching for “driftmaster” produces no hits. Incidentally, the local distributor for Laguna is Carbatec, and a search on the same also produces no hits.

I’m not sure if you’re looking for more information on Harvey or Gregory Machinery or something else? I can say that Gregory Machinery is a real business, located in Brisbane Australia and has been in business for decades.
I didn't look up any links or relevant manufacturer information for the other one. If it's Laguna you need, we can provide it. Or you can let me know if you have any other ideas or questions. _________________________________ Interesting as it seems they are suggesting you can get from them the Laguna style or a different style, both called "Driftmaster"
Based on the product link you provided, I found the production department to confirm. Luckily, we still have the parts for this rail, you can buy some components or a whole rail (assembling the individual parts).

Thanks for the clarification. I'm sorry I can't point out the similarities and differences between these two products. All I can offer is that we have produced this fence for Laguna before when we were their supplier.
By dedicating time to learn your story and what matters most to you, we build thoughtful financial strategies designed with your values and goals in mind.
