I'm working on a project where I have to mill 40 1/2-13 holes in a 6061 plate. I'm trying to use a single profile thread mill (this one specifically) and I am having a hard time getting the speeds and feeds right. It either ends up chattering or sounding off, I don't know how to explain it better. My best result so far has been at around 500sfm and half a thou ipt, but I'd say it was the least bad of what I've tried, not something I'd happily use for 40 holes.

My hunch is to try a higher chipload and lower sfm but I'm pretty new to threadmilling and figured I'd ask for help before trashing my tool. I was also wondering if I should be doing multiple passes to get to full thread depth or just take it all at once? (I've been doing 2 or 3 passes so far)
