Speeds and Feeds 101 - In The Loupe - cutting speed chart milling
Hello! Thanks for the feedback. The "stacking ads" issue you described definitely doesn't sound like the reading experience that we want in the app! We realize it's been a while, but if you still have the screen recording and could send it to app-feedback@thoughtcatalog.com, we'd be happy to look into it.
ThoughtCatalogBooks
Founded in 2010, Thought Catalog is a digital magazine based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Over 30 million readers every month turn to us for inspirational, honest, and heartfelt writing on lifeâs most important topics.
I downloaded this app yesterday after perusing the site. Let me say, this is an app I want on my phone because, well, it invites me to be thoughtful. As a professional writer, itâs nice being able to find inspirational content from other professionals and have them all in one place. The problem here is the website to app transition isnât intuitive AT ALL! Like others have stated, the absence of a search bar is almost laughable really. Iâm not even able to find the article I was reading when I thought to download the app. Also, thereâs no way to favorite any of the articles on the site, either. Thereâs literally no site to app integration whatsoever. The two are completely independent. Iâm sure others would sign up for a membership of sorts just to have the app & site function more seamlessly. Hoping developers take these things into account because I love the concept. Iâd much rather spend my idle time reading content of this nature than aimlessly scrolling social media.

Iâve been reading the Thought Catalog site for years now and Iâm super excited about the app! I love seeing all of the different articles and essays by people that I am always able to relate to in some way...even if itâs just a tiny thing that Iâm able to relate to. All of the articles are well written and knowing that Iâm not alone in some things that I feel just makes their words that much better. I genuinely appreciate all of the writers or artists, etc involved with Thought Catalog!

Too much click bait forced scrolling makes the app unusable if you are looking to get in read your piece and then go back. Medium or Quora are much more stable app platforms. The ads keep stacking up higher in the feed as you scroll down the list of articles which are displayed as tiles. The tiles keep getting buffered out of the screen. The ads are designed to interfere with your scrolling. Iâm still looking for the article from the website that prompted the app download, and screen recorded my experience in the app just to have the feedback for any of the app developers. The platform is free but the cost is your time spent sifting through the ad interface. There has to be a better way to make the app work as well as the adverts. There are really good articles (which you have to scroll down past creepy to get to the digital dating and romance authors). My solicited and uncompensated feedback. Youâre welcome.
