Rounding the edges will also lead to a greater coating thickness at the edges after painting or powder coating. In modern day sheet metal processing, rounding edges is a standard procedure.

The task of a deburring and edge rounding machine is to achieve an even result on all edges, regardless of the contour of the workpiece. The abrasive tools should also wear evenly in order to avoid time-consuming calibrating or re-adjusting. Loewer machines with TD-units fufill all these requirements: they deliver a uniform 360° processing of parts together with even tool wear and the grade of edge breaking is adjustable from light to heavy.
