OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Sandvik Coromant, a tooling solutions supplier, announced its plans for expanding operations in Oconee County.

Arun Pattanik, Sandvik Coromant Production Unit Director, said, “Oconee County has been our home since 2002. Sandvik Coromant’s Westminster site is the company’s state-of-the-art carbide manufacturing plant in North America and is known for its highly engaged, committed and passionate people. We always want to make sure that we have the most current machinery and technology to serve our North American and global customers.”

Sandvik plans to spend $29.4 million on its Westminster production facility to update its machinery and automation processes.

Sandvik is a global engineering group that produces carbide inserts and round tools for the metal-cutting industry. The facility in Oconee County manufactures standard and customized carbide inserts.
