The Best Drill Bits for Drilling Into Hardened Steel - how do you drill through hardened steel
Determining ROI for #additivemanufacturing is tough! Because you're often producing at the point of need, it's subjective as to what should be included. Take the part below, no commercial equivalent but a custom adapter to allow an on hand fuse with a different geometry (same specs) to fit the need. This kept the cutter on site and fully mission capable. If we assume the part cost $0.10 in filament, is the value: 1. $1.35? Because you could probably pay someone $1.45 online to make this? 2. $2.25? Because the fuse we replaced cost $2.35? 3. $552? Because we had to pay $550 for overnight shipping to a foreign port? 4. $8,552? Because it cost ~$8K in fuel/docking fees to moor the cutter to the port we shipped the fuse to? 5. $334,552? Because it’s roughly ~$7K/hr for the cutter to operate and get to the port in 48 hrs? (Assuming an MEC reimbursable rate provided by COMDTINST 7310.1R) 6. $840,552? Because a second cutter had to be operational for an additional 72hrs to fill the mission requirement? Depending on the situation and perspective this could be a $1 or almost $1,000,000 ROO? What would you say it is? Regardless of the math you choose, Coasties create solutions at sea all the time and it’s why they’re great. I’m proud to be helping get #3DPrinting into thier repertoire to enhance capabilities so they can continue to keep assets up and #USCG costs down!
Multi-axis synchronous control, speed/torque control, and robust filter: Unwinders & Rewinders: Multi-axis synchronous control, speed/torque control, and robust filter SSCNETIII/H allows to configure a multi-axis synchronous control system even for unwinders & rewinders with multiple axes. For machines with a machining axis, further high-level synchronous control system is possible by using cam control and advanced synchronous control. Because the current position is controlled during the speed or torque control, positioning based on the absolute position coordinate is possible when the control mode is switched to the position control.

T-Rex Unique Identifier 4 What machine is the fastest CNC stone router that produces more than 400 SF per shift with 1 operator? You guessed it! The T Rex Model S in its dual table format! How can it produce this many square feet? These are the reasons: 1. Non-stop CNC machine! One table can be loaded completely while the other table is running a cycle. When finished, the machine immediately begins to router on 2nd table. 2. Finger bits and profile wheels run faster on the T Rex than all other industry standard machines due to its heavy-duty construction and the largest direct drive spindle in the industry(35HP). 3. Double-stacked tools allow less tool changes and more machining time. Limitations of EDM: Workpiece material must be electrically conductive. It is not possible to produce perfectly square corner holes. The workpiece is hardened near the hole. #plasticinjectionmolding #injectionmould #injectionmolding #EDM #EDMProcess

Minor Diameter is the smallest diameter on the thread and is measured from the thread root to root (Bottom of the thread).
GREAT example to show that quite often the value generated by your #additivemanufacturing part is NOT just the mere cost/part saving (if any...) but much greater benefits are hidden! It's paramount to spot this underlying value and highlight to the end user if you want to boost additive part adoption.

Quick CNC files. I made a trade with a follower - post a video of his sign pattern in exchange for the DXF file #logictrace #cnccuttng #vectorfiles #metalsigns #metalwork #cncmachining #cncdesign #lasercutting #plasmacutting I always enjoy seeing what patterns customers and potential customers have which need DXF files. This pattern which I think is for a metal sign was easily defined by using Logic Trace System lines, curves, and circles. Complete trace took less than 2 minutes.
Get It Made was founded in 2011 with a mission to make manufacturing simple. Based in London, UK, Get It Made provides outstanding manufacturing services to companies across the globe.
The Major Diameter is the largest diameter on the thread and is measured from the thread crest to crest (peak of the thread).
We often get asked by those familiar with tap-testing from years past, "where are the stability lobe diagrams?" When we designed the Dashboard, we thought about the CAM programmer or the machinist and their needs. They wanted to see where the tool would run stable within the constraints of the tool dimensions and maximum speed of the spindle. They wanted to see instantaneous results to changes they made in the axial and radial depths of cut. They wanted the relevant calculations and conversions to be generated automatically. They wanted to know when the thermal limit of the tool or the power of the machine is exceeded. We even added one click reordering of the tool components. As you can see from this image, the Dashboard presents the same data as the stability lobe diagram, but in a fully interactive format that meets the requirements described above. Want to see more? Here is a video: https://lnkd.in/dAg2sQUn The Dashboard is available with the MSC MillMax tap testing service: https://lnkd.in/e8B-9jZ #msc #millmax #milling #cncmachining #cnc #cncmilling #endmills #machining #tooling #ornl #manufacturing #reshoring

This is the distance (mm) from one thread to the next, this can be measured from tip to tip or groove to groove. Pitch can also be defined as TPI, which stands for threads per inch.
